Photo and details of an example of this differentiated artistic effect.
MATERIAL USED IN THIS SERIGRAPHIC PRINT
-Screen with polyester 44 threads
-Emulsion for relief, sensitizing bichromate
-Plastisol relief colorless and very soft base (beat)
-Squeegee straight medium hardness (60 shores)
-Thermal gun for drying
HOW TO SCREEN
We apply a first coat and pre-cure with the thermal dryer (or flash cure).
In the second coat it makes a more complete drying.
We repeat another two strides until we reach a good height in the relief.
In the penultimate and last pass, we covered the canvas well with ink and took a squeegee pass with the squeegee under the ink, without removing the excess; before lifting the screen. Causing the ink-soaked screen to "pull" between the screen and the fabric. Causing this stippling typical of the effect.
Then the final drying takes place, making that smoke.
COMMENTS
-This effect is very individual. It looks different from the other.
-The substrate has to resist the high temperature that requires drying.
-The most effective way to clean the dirty plastisol screen, spatula and squeegee, is with kerosene and cloth tow.
-Avoid inhaling the smoke that comes out at the time of drying.
-You can do with two or more colors mixed. Or with more details stamped before, with other colors without relief.
